What Customers Say About Griffin Wave Case for iPhone 3G, 3G S (Black):

The wave design is kind of cool. It's actually my favorite part of the "case". A little tough to put on at first. Otherwise, it does it's job protecting the phone.

I had no issues with putting on the screen protector, and actually think it works great. Worked well and looked great. I thought it would prevent it from peeling back, and it has. I'm committed to keeping the phone protected in the mean time, but am irritated every time another piece of the case peels off.

It didn't have as much chipping as this case has after a week. I selected this case because of the lip that goes over the chrome bezel and covers the edges of the screen protector. My only (and biggest) complaint about this case is that the soft material coating peels. I had it for almost a week before the edges and corners started peeling away. Got this case minutes after purchasing my iphone.

Worst of all, I'm generally very gentle with my phones and have never had issues like this. I had my last phone for 2+ years without ever putting it in a case. I got a good deal on the case, so I can't say I regret the purchase. But I am disappointed in the flaking. Even worse, all the little flakes are sliding under the edges of the case around the screen and making it look dirty. I can't see any bubbles and have lost no responsiveness with the screen. The gaps around the edges are a little annoying, but I can deal with them.

The case below the soft material is intact, but slippery and shiny. I simply cannot stand the peeling, and have ordered another case from a different company as a replacement. It does add quite a bit of bulk to the phone, but that doesn't bother me much. It does encase the phone securely, and I have no fear of the case falling off.

This case feels sturdy but trust me in 2 weeks it will start peeling and there is nothin you can do about it. It tends to get ugly but it definitely not worth it.I have also used SHIELD which is good and SPeck transparent version which gets scratched very soon but for a working guy (im an engineer) I surely do recommend Shield.

Last week I broke the screen on my first generation iPhone by dropping it in the parking lot. So in this respect, it does not fit quite like a glove. The material is nice, as some of the previous reviewers noted, and access to all the controls is easy.

So when my 3GS replacement arrived, I went to the nearest walm@rt to pick up a case for it. The camera hole is perfectly aligned with the camera lens. It was already somewhat deformed from previous drops, but this did it in, after two years of use.

I put on the clear screen and have not had any issues with it so far - just take time to align the holes correctly. It does make the phone look and feel bulkier, but this is what I wanted. My primary focus was getting a case that will protect the phone, all other concerns, such as form factor and look being secondary.I like the fact that the case is not flush with the screen. If anything at all, this is the feature that can save your screen in the event of a drop.

There are very small gaps between the case and the corners of the screen, a side effect of the semi-soft case material. Other than that, it is perfect.

This protects decently, but the case starts to peel after a while. I've dropped it before, and my phone was okay, but I worry about the durability of the case if the plastic peels off. Also, sometimes the case fits together nicely and sometimes it makes gaps, which makes me nervous.

I do think that this case would protect the phone very well from drops and such, as the plastic material is very thick and the wave design makes it so the top won't just "pop" off of anything. It is so thick and protruding near the earpiece that its difficult to hear full volume. Since its always in a case, I don't worry too much about how it looks underneath as long as it is protecting my phone overall. It has cause some scratching to the phone, especially along the chrome bezel. The scratching actually isn't my least favorite part of this. I bought this case 2 months ago for my iphone, and at first I loved it, but it slowly has become such a nuisance. For several dollars LESS than this case, you can buy the iFrogz Luxe, which solves all of these problems. Now, it creaks and squeaks and just bugs me.The WORST part for me is the thickness of the front face of the case. It doesn't feel like it will fall off though since the flaps overlap and grip each other, but it is annoying.

This becomes most problematic in loud environments. The first time you put it on, it will take you maybe 20 minutes to snap the front face on with the waves lined up and without pinching up the corners of the screen protector. I have taken it off maybe 4 times during this time frame, it the inside is FULL of dust, sand grains, etc. It puts just enough distance between your ear and the front of the phone that you cannot seal it from background noise. The scratches are definitely a con though and consider that before you buy.Next, the case gets loose. That said, after 4 times opening it or so, it is so loose that it wiggles around a good amount in hand. Overall, I don't recommend this case because, though it does seem protective, it just isn't the most user-friendly of the bunch. The front is thin so it doesn't put too much distance between your ear and the phone, it has a button to hold it together, and its a great material.
